Sip & Stitch - Needlepoint Night with The Junior League of Boston
Join Stitch Club Boston as we partner with The Junior League of Boston’s Social Events Committee for a night of needlepointing at the Junior League Headquarters on Newbury Street.
Stop by after work, bring your needlepoint, and enjoy of night of stitching and socializing with fellow enthusiasts!
The Junior League of Boston is an organization for young women, interested in becoming volunteers trained to address the community challenges and needs of Greater Boston.
Attendees are also recommended to bring their beverage of choice, as they enjoy some light refreshments!
SCB Holiday Social
Join us for some stitching and good cheer! We’re excited to hang out at Paddy’s for a festive holiday social. The restaurant is accessible by the T or Commuter Rail, plus there is ample parking for anyone driving.
During the social, we’ll have a needlepoint gift exchange! Think fun accessories or thread to swap with a pal. The exchange is optional, but please keep the gifts under $25 if you choose to participate.

Stitch Club Boston Summer Retreat
Join us for our Summer Retreat as we head to Manchester, Vermont!
This event is open to all levels of stitchers and is designed to be flexible. Whether you come Wednesday night and make it a full trip, or only attend one or two of the planned events, any and all participation is welcome!
Room Block
We have set up a room block at the Taconic Hotel, for the nights of Wednesday, August 16th & Thursday, August 17th, with checkout on the 18th. You can book one or two nights.
The room rate is $219 per night (not inclusive of 10% tax/resort fee of $25).

In Stiches has a wonderful section of canvases and fiber in a sunny, red barn-like building. The store is on the smaller side, so if you are planning to stay and stitch, we suggest bringing a folding chair so we can stitch outside 😊

Class Description:
This in-person class will walk you through learning the fundamental skills to paint and design needlepoint canvases. During our time together we will cover painting basics like background painting, transferring designs and lettering to canvas. We will also talk about layout and design inspiration and run you through an overview of some technology that is helpful in needlepoint design and production. All materials will be provided and at the end of class you will have a small needlepoint canvas painted by you to take home and stitch.
This class is perfect for the stitcher who would love to bring some of their creative ideas to canvas but doesn’t know where to start. It is also great for the beginning needlepoint designer who is interested in building their skill set and learning some tips and tricks from an experienced designer. Local Needlepoint Shop owners can also benefit by either sending a staff member who they would like to train to become a shop painter or the owners themselves that would like to take their businesses to the next level by offering their customers exclusive shop designs.

I literally stumbled into this niche career 26 years ago when I, fresh out of art school answered a want add in the San Francisco Chronicle for a “Needlepoint Painter”. I was hired by Needlepoint Inc and worked there for 5 years until I got married and moved back to the east coast. In 2002 I established Jenny Henry Designs, a needlepoint design company that sold hand painted needlepoint canvases to the trade only at first. I then evolved to offer beginner friendly needlepoint kits to my line. During my time as a needlepoint designer I have had press in The Washington Post, The New York Times Style Section, Better Homes & Garden Magazine, Baltimore Style Magazine, Craft Magazine, X Stitch Magazine and a boutique art zine called Caboodle. For many years I supported my business by doing freelance needlepoint design and custom work for other needlepoint companies. All this to say, I have painted a lot of needlepoint canvases! I can’t wait to share what I have learned over the years with you.

Boston Canvas Launch Party with Hedgehog Needlepoint
Join Stitch Club Boston and Hannelore of Hedgehog Needlepoint to celebrate the launch of her custom Boston Tag Canvas!

Meet-Up @ Farm Fiber Day at Wayland Winter Farmers' Market
Join us for an in-person meetup at Farm Fiber Day at the Wayland Winter Farmers’ Market located at Russell’s Garden Center.
Over 50+ fiber vendors will be in attendance, and a few vendors with prepared foods and beverages.
Anyone interested in knitting, spinning, felting, weaving, visiting sheep, petting bunnies, and purchasing gifts and threads should attend!
